May 17, 2009

On an overcast, cool spring day, boys and girls ages 4-15 from around the city participated in the New York Road Runners Youth Jamboree, a Track & Field & Wellness Event on Sunday, May 17. Each year the NYRR Foundation hosts four Jamborees, two of them at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.

Friends, teammates, and family watched from the stands in Icahn Stadium.

Seven- and 8-year-olds sprinted down the track in the 200-meter dash.

Approximately 1,000 boys and girls took part in the Jamboree.
