Volunteer
Our programs depend on volunteers to help reach almost 50,000 kids in more than 250 schools and community centers across the country. By becoming a youth program volunteer, you will help New York City's youth build healthy fitness habits for life as well instilling the attitudes and character traits which transform and enrich children’s lives.
Volunteers can serve in a number of capacities. Some serve as coaches or assistant coaches. Additionally, our “Race Buddies” program uses volunteers to accompany young runners during NYRR races. We also look for office volunteers with expertise in areas such as marketing, public relations, fund-raising, special events, and graphic design.
To ensure the safety of our participants and programs, New York Road Runners has enlisted the National Center for Safety Initiatives to perform background checks on all our youth program staff and volunteers.
Please print out and complete the volunteer packet below and send to NYRR by U.S. Mail or fax.
