John DeMatteo

John DeMatteo has been involved with NYRR Youth Programs since the fall of 2003 when he started a large Young Runners team. In 2004, John started a series of Region IX Track Meets with a few schools from lower Manhattan which branched out to become the Department of Education Developmental Track and Field Series, a massive program which serves 10-15,000 students from all five boroughs of New York City with more than 60 meets throughout the school year. John still plays a major part in the DOE track and field series as well as running the Young Runners and Mighty Milers programs at Manhattan Academy of Technology and PS 126.
