Steven Sloan

Steven Sloan, a.ka.“Superstar” Sloan, as he is known throughout the school, manages a remarkably successful physical education-based Mighty Milers program at PS 102 in Manhattan.  Mr. Sloan is an iconic fixture in the school and is beloved by all - students, teachers and parents.  If you didn’t know Mr. Sloan, you wouldn’t be able to tell that he has been blind since childhood, a disability he has expertly conquered.  Mr. Sloan’s heartfelt “tough love” approach to teaching combined with his vibrant “superstar” personality and success at overcoming all obstacles makes him a fantastic role model for children and representative for the Mighty Milers program.
