• Sara set a record in high school by becoming the first Californian to win the state cross country title four times, and she won three state titles for track in addition.

• While in college, Sara was a 7-time All-American.

• Sara won her first national title as a professional runner in 2006, running the CVS/pharmacy 5K (3.1 miles) in Providence, Rhode Island with a time of 15:40, and she finished the year by winning the Continental Airlines 5th Avenue Mile in New York City with a time of 4:28:0.

Fun Facts:

• Sara tutors children who are learning English as a second language.

• Sara and her husband, Ryan, also a professional runner, are raising money through their “More Precious than Gold” campaign to bring more clean water wells to African communities.
