Accomplishments:

• Krige won the men’s wheelchair event in the Honolulu, Hawaii Marathon 7 times.

• He has won bronze and silver medals in the Paralympic Men’s Wheelchair Marathon.

• He holds the world record for 10 miles with a time of 35:18. (That’s about 3.5 minutes a mile.)

Fun Facts:

• Krige was accepted into Honolulu’s Marathon Hall of Fame.

• He has also set South African swim records.

Quote: “My first marathon was in the central part of South Africa in a town called Welkom. It was the toughest marathon course because I hadn’t been really prepared for it. And I thought, never again. And now I’ve done plenty after that.”
