Lesson Plans
The curriculum, which was designed in conjunction with the Mighty Milers program, is an integrated guide that relates topics in running and fitness to classroom lessons in Math, Literacy, Science, Art, and Physical Education. The marathon is a common theme present in many of the lessons to reinforce the Mighty Milers goal of running one or more marathons of miles a year. The lessons are organized by suggested grade level or topic, but are created to be adaptable to a wide range of learners with varied interests. Each lesson includes skills addressed and suggested teaching time, but can be readily revised to meet your individual student's needs.
