Tip of the Month

Summer is just around the bend and you don’t want your students to forget the importance of running over their vacations! Here are a few tips on preparing your students to continue their running routine this summer:  
  • Take time during a class or Mighty Milers session and help students create and decorate a personal weekly running schedule. They can customize it based on their summer plans.

  • Emphasize the fun of summer fitness – many activities that kids already like such as baseball or swimming, are excellent forms of physical activity.

  • Discuss running in the summer heat.  Proper attire, hydration, and the best times of day to run should all be addressed so that kids are safe while they stay active.
