Run for the Future

Now in its second year, Run for the Future helps young women new to running get healthy and save for college. Students meet three times a week from July 7 to August 25 to train with NYRR coaches for the Harlem 5K Run and Walk on August 25, learn about social justice issues, and plan and implement a service project that addresses a health barrier affecting their communities. Participants who complete the 8-week program and maintain at least 80% attendance at practices earn a $1,000 college scholarship.
